Understanding Global Curriculums

Which one is best for your school, and for your child?

Schools and parents always ask us the same question: which curriculum is best? The answer is simple.

The best curriculum is the one that fits the learner, not the other way round.

Here is a breakdown of the major curriculums we implement and teach at Educate Talents.

British Curriculum

Cambridge, IGCSE, A-Levels

Best for
Learners who thrive with structure, depth and clear progression. The most widely used curriculum in Nigeria and across Africa, Asia and the UAE.
Assessment
Checkpoint, IGCSE and A-Level examinations.
How we help
IGCSE tutoring, teacher training on British curriculum delivery, and SEN support for diverse learners.

American Curriculum

Common Core with the inclusive IEP model

Best for
Creative learners, and children with learning disabilities. Flexible, creative and highly inclusive, the gold standard for inclusive education.
Assessment
Continuous assessment, MAP tests, and the SAT for university admission.
How we help
IEP design, differentiated instruction and SAT preparation. This is the curriculum we recommend where true inclusion is the goal.

International Baccalaureate

PYP, MYP, DP

Best for
Students who love inquiry, research and projects. Highly respected by top universities worldwide.
Assessment
Projects, research papers and final examinations.
How we help
Teacher training on inquiry-based learning, and academic writing support for students.

Montessori

Child-led, hands-on, early years

Best for
Early intervention, independence and sensory learning. Strong for early years and for learners with developmental delays.
Assessment
Observation-based.
How we help
Literacy development through storytelling, our specialty.

Nigerian Curriculum

NERDC, the 9-3-4 system

Best for
Cultural relevance and national examinations. Rich in local culture, values and history.
Assessment
Continuous assessment and final examinations: BECE, WAEC, NECO.
How we help
Helping private schools blend NERDC with British and American methods for global competitiveness.

Working Together

How We Help You Choose and Succeed

For schools

We don’t just recommend a curriculum; we help you implement it. Curriculum audits, teacher training, and instructional materials that make a school inclusive and globally competitive.

For parents and students

Direct tutoring aligned to your school’s own curriculum: IGCSE and A-Level, K-12 English, Mathematics, Sciences, literacy and numeracy, and exam preparation for study abroad. One to one or small group, online or in person.

Which curriculum is best for a child with learning disabilities?

We recommend the American inclusive model with an IEP, or the British SEN model. Both allow for:

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Differentiated instruction
  • Extra time and accommodations in examinations: IGCSE, SAT, IELTS

That is why our SAT, TOEFL, IELTS and IGCSE classes are inclusive by default: every child can excel with the right support.
