International
IGCSE Preparation
Subject-by-subject preparation for the International GCSE, taught to the published syllabus with past-paper practice and marked written work.
About this examination
The IGCSE, or International General Certificate of Secondary Education, is a secondary qualification taken subject by subject, most often at ages 14 to 16. It is offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education and, as the International GCSE, by Pearson Edexcel. Each subject is certificated separately and graded on its own scale, and the qualification is widely used as the route into A Levels, the IB Diploma or a university foundation year.
What you will work on
- Syllabus coverage in the subjects being prepared for, taught against the board's published specification
- How each paper is structured, and how many marks each section actually carries
- What examiners expect in a full-credit answer, read from the published mark schemes
- Extended and structured writing technique for the subjects that assess it
- Past-paper practice across several series, so recurring question patterns become familiar
- Managing time across a paper so no question is left unattempted
How preparation is approached
- Confirming the examining board first, because Cambridge and Edexcel set different papers for the same subject
- Establishing which tier or paper combination the student is entered for
- Topic-by-topic teaching against the specification rather than a generic scheme of work
- Written work marked to the board's own mark scheme, with the marks broken down
- Full past papers under timed conditions as the sitting approaches
Worth knowing
Because IGCSEs are certificated per subject, students often sit them across more than one series. Preparation is planned around the subjects and the sitting the student is actually entered for.
The Process
Preparing for IGCSE
The same five stages apply to IGCSE preparation as to every other program at Educate Talents.

A diagnostic session identifies your current strengths and the areas that need the most attention.
Step 03: Build Your Learning Plan
A personalized preparation schedule is designed around your goals, pace, and availability.
Step 04: Practice, Teach & Refine
Structured lessons, timed practice, and targeted feedback keep your progress on track.
Step 05: Prepare with Confidence
By examination day, you are fully prepared, with strategy, content, and mindset all aligned.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Classes
Are lessons online or in person?
Lessons are taught online, one to one and live. That is the confirmed format, and it is what allows students to join from anywhere rather than only from the teacher's own city.
Can I take lessons from outside the teacher's country?
Yes. Because lessons are delivered online, students can join from anywhere in the world. Reach out and we can work out a schedule that fits your timezone.
Are lessons one to one or in a group?
Both. Lessons run one to one or in small groups, online or in person, depending on what suits the learner. One-to-one work is built around an individual student's goals, starting point and pace; small groups suit students who work better alongside others.
Preparation
Which examinations do you prepare students for?
Currently confirmed: SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, CELPIP, IGCSE, GRE, GMAT, WAEC, NECO, Summer Lessons, Fall Lessons, Spring Lessons, Academic Support, Special Education. Other examinations are listed on the Programs page and are being confirmed. Message us to ask about a specific one.
How long does exam preparation take?
As a guide: IGCSE runs 8 to 12 weeks per subject, SAT 8 to 12 weeks, and IELTS or TOEFL 6 to 8 weeks. K-12 support is ongoing month to month. After a free assessment you get a personalised study plan with the exact duration and a target score, rather than a generic timetable.
Do you provide learning materials?
Yes, and at no extra cost: practice tests and past questions, study guides and worksheets, IEP templates and differentiated resources for learners with special educational needs, and literacy resources including the teacher's own storybooks.
Consultation
What happens in a consultation?
A conversation about what you need, whether that is an examination and its timeline or the subjects and grade you want lessons in, and how it would work for you.
How do I get started?
Message us on WhatsApp using any of the buttons on this site, or send an enquiry from the Contact page. Tell us which examination you are preparing for and roughly when you plan to sit it. For lessons, tell us the student's grade and the subjects you want covered. We will take it from there.
